Flexispot 4-Leg Standing Desk: The Wobble-Free Choice

Why I went with four legs instead of two, and why my wife actually approves of this desk.

When shopping for a standing desk, the default seems to be two legs. They’re cheaper, they’re everywhere, and they work fine for most people. But after watching countless YouTube reviews of wobbly monitors at standing height, I went a different route: the Flexispot 4-leg frame.

The Specs

  • Frame: Flexispot 4-leg electric standing desk frame
  • Desktop: 1400mm MDF top in grey
  • Load capacity: Significantly more than I’ll ever need

Why Four Legs?

The maths is simple: more legs = more stability. With a dual monitor setup on a heavy monitor arm, the last thing I wanted was screen wobble during video calls. Two-leg desks can handle this, but they often struggle at full standing height with heavy loads.

The 4-leg Flexispot doesn’t wobble. At all. Even at maximum height with me typing aggressively during a particularly frustrating debugging session, the monitors stay rock solid.

Daily Use

I switch between sitting and standing multiple times per day. The motor is quiet enough that I can adjust height during calls without anyone noticing - no awkward “sorry, just moving my desk” explanations needed.

The preset buttons are genuinely useful. I’ve got sitting height, standing height, and a slightly lower standing position for when I’m feeling lazy but don’t want to fully commit to sitting.

The Wife Approval Factor

This might be the most important metric. The grey MDF top and clean frame design means this desk doesn’t look like industrial equipment pretending to be furniture. It actually fits in the room without drawing complaints about “that massive desk thing.”

This is not a small achievement. Previous desk purchases have not enjoyed such approval ratings.

Any Downsides?

The 4-leg frame costs more than the 2-leg version. That’s the trade-off. If you’re putting a laptop and a small monitor on your desk, save your money and get two legs.

But if you’re running a multi-monitor setup with heavy monitor arms, or you just hate wobble with an unreasonable passion, the four legs are worth it.

The Verdict

It’s a desk. It goes up. It goes down. It doesn’t wobble. My wife doesn’t hate it.

What more could you ask for?

Would I buy it again? Yes, without hesitation.
